What we collect

Second Neuron is a personal knowledge management tool. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and account ID from Google and store them so we can identify you across sessions. We do not request any other permissions.

Anything you save into your knowledge graph — concepts, captures, review history, calibration entries, API keys — is stored in your account and is visible only to you. It is never shared, sold, or used to train any model.

Browser extension

The Second Neuron browser extension captures the page you’re currently viewing only when you click its toolbar icon. It reads the page text locally, then sends it to your account at secondneuron.com using an API key you generate yourself. No other pages are read, tracked, or logged.

The extension requests the minimum permissions it needs to operate:activeTab (read the current tab when you click the icon),storage (remember your API key locally), andscripting (extract text from the page).

AI processing

Your captures are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to extract concepts, suggest connections, and power review modes. Anthropic does not train on API traffic. See Anthropic’s privacy policy for details.

Storage and retention

Your data lives in a Turso (libSQL) database operated on your behalf. You can delete your account at any time by emailing the address below; we’ll remove your concepts, captures, API keys, and user record within 30 days.

Third parties

We use Vercel for hosting, Turso for database, Anthropic for AI, and Google for sign-in. We do not use analytics, ad networks, or fingerprinting.
